About My Students

Amr, David, Edwin, Emmanuel, Kevin, Lloyd, Osmar and Ray are middle school students who love working with new technology. They are hardworking and take very good care of our classroom and supplies. Their favorite subjects include Music, Art and Physical Education. They all need help with Mathematics and would greatly benefit from some Reading enrichment. Their love for technology has brought some new tools into the classroom by way of apps and websites tailored to fit their academic needs. I would love to enhance their experience by acquiring headphones for all of their devices. My goal is to encourage a love for learning in my students that transcends the classroom and drives them to push themselves toward a lifelong thirst for knowledge and understanding of the world around them. I want to engage their existing love for computers and technology by maximizing the educational benefit of the equipment in my classroom. I have enough computers and iPads for everyone to get access, but I need headphones and a fun, innovative new curriculum to make it an integral part of my daily lessons.

The students in my class have special needs, but they share a love for technology and innovation that motivates them to focus on their talents rather than their deficits. Help me optimize the tools I already have in my classroom to engage my class with new and exciting ways to learn while teaching them the skills they will need for future careers that utilize these technological skills!

In Their Own Words

My fellow classmates and I of X02 strongly believe we need to upgrade our technology. More specifically, we need to upgrade our headphones. If we get our new headphones we can all go on educational websites an watch academic videos in case we need extra help. It would also be beneficial because it could help our teacher since everyone in my class is on different levels. We don't want designer headphones, just regular, durable and nice headphones. Not the ones that go inside your ears, though. That's nasty.

We are coming up with ideas to improve our classroom on our own. We want to get headphones so we can learn on our computers and iPads. We want to use them to learn in a more independent way. We think that learning on our own and taking responsibility for our classroom equipment will make us strong leaders.

If this project is funded, we will have headphones and we will make it a point to spend some time each day using technology to learn. We will be able to play learning games together, and also work on our skills independently. Our teacher can take the time to help us each with the skills we need help with the most.
