Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The second-grade​ students at our school are eager to learn. They are learning many skills for reading and math. The students love helping each other.

The children come from various backgrounds and family units.

Often, there can be 4 languages spoken in our class. However, we strive to include everyone in our work and FUN when learning!

In our class we want children to be given every opportunity to engage in reading materials that they find engaging and on their level.

My Project

The students in second grade are learning how to enjoy reading. In previous grades students were taught how to read.

Now, we are learning how to enjoy reading.

We learn to read for pleasure, education and research.

The items you will purchase will allow students to enjoy reading while being comfortable. The six Kindles will provide students with the opportunity to select material that is not available in our classroom library.

Students will be able to pick their material (books, e-books, magazines) and where they would like to enjoy reading. As adults, we know we enjoy reading more sitting in a comfy and cozy place than at our "work" desks.

The Kindle Fire Tablets will allow the students to practice many literacy skills through fun engaging game. Students will be able to read material of their choosing as well as practice skills and strategies taught in the classroom.

The requested yoga balls and mats will provide students with a comfortable place to relax and read. We all love to curl up with a good book and these balls and mats will let us do just that.

The inflatable chairs will be a special place for our school leaders (who have proven to be deserving of the seat) will be able to offer fellow students assistance with their books or tablets.
