My Students

One of my New Year's resolutions for my second graders is to bring excitement back to playtime. I don't want to see my students wandering off aimlessly during recess and always wandered off out of their assigned area. Recess should be fun!

I work with wonderful and motivated second graders who would enjoy to take part in exciting physical activities.

Our playground is vast, but limited in providing our students fun activities for them to actively engaged during recess. I would like to provide my students with fun activities to play during their recess. Playground activities should not be limited only to ball playing such as kickball, volleyball, or dodge ball. Our inner city school is located in the heart of an extremely diverse community. We are a Title 1 school and 100% of our students are on the federal free meal plan. Many students arrive to school at 7:00a.m. and stay after school until 6:00p.m. Our school is their home away from home sanctuary. With more options of playtime activities, my students will be enriched by the quality of physical fitness activities that the purchased materials can fulfill.

My Project

Research shows that positive experiences with physical activities help set the stage for students to be engaged and thus keep their mind focused in academic areas as well. My goal is to provide a variety of fun, engaging, and healthy activities for my students to have fun during their recess and beyond. Once my students have the opportunity to participate and learn the games, we can rotate and share among other students at the school. In addition to keep my students entertained and physically fit, it is also my hope to see them develop friendship during their interaction of the shared materials kind donors like you can support. Both the ring toss games and juggling ball activities will not only enhance my students' eye-hand coordination skills, but will also help improving their computational skills while they're keeping track of their scores.

Your generous support in donating the toss-ring set and juggling balls will add excitement while building friendship and strengthening my students' body and mind.

Your support in the purchase of these materials will make a lasting impact for their health. Recess and P.E. will not only be fun but also a calories burning exercise for the body while reducing academic stress for the mind. Your support will make my students happy and healthy in 2014.
