My Students

My class surprises me every day with everything that they can do, and all the fun ways that they can do it. They enjoy hands-on activities, but are improving their abilities to read, write and do math! We are focused on expressive writing this year, and are learning many different ways to express ourselves through writing. The students share their ideas, verbally, visually, and through traditional writing. We are hoping to improve our writing over the course of this year, share our experiences, and one day get published!

My Project

In our class, my students require adapted materials in order to succeed. One of our greatest tools are our adapted books, which we make in class. The books teach students a variety of skills and concepts by having the students physically interact with them by writing in them and moving pictures that have been Velcroed.

My students love sharing their adapted books with their friends to show off their knowledge.

The students will be able to create, laminate, and bind the books with these materials. This will help the books last longer from year to year, as well as make them more rapidly.
