Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you remember having fun while learning? I want to be able to provide my students with the same experiences that most of us had as elementary students.

I teach third and fourth grade in a high poverty community in Southern California.

We are a public Title I school, with the majority of students receiving free or reduced lunch. Due to the lack of funding and budget cuts my students do not have the same resources or experiences as students in more affluent areas. I am asking for your help to provide them with math games to make learning fun and accessible.

My Project

My students would greatly benefit from having math games. These games would be used to extend math lessons and help students practice the skills that they are learning. The games will provide them with alternative ways of learning. Not all students can learn from listening, many are visual learners, while others need a hands on approach. Learning needs to be fun and engaging. All these games will motivate students to practice math skills that seem boring when practicing using paper and pencil. Students will master math without even realizing it.

These games will facilitate learning for all students.

They will keep them engaged and focused. The students will master the skills that they will need as they advance in their education.
