My Students

Imagine a school in a low income neighborhood, were students come to school to engage in the start of a positive promising future. But how can you succeed if you are limited by lack of resources? These are my students, and this is their story. My students are enthusiastic to come to class each and every day, to learn something new, having discussions of various topics and ultimately preparing them with the knowledge and skills that will help them succeed beyond high school.

Although resources are limited, my students still find the positive in any negative aspects there may be.

My students all come from different range of backgrounds whether culturally to financially, however we all believe we are family.

My Project

With these materials, I will be able to sufficiently teach my students in a safe and comfortable environment. Due to most of my students coming from a low income household, they are unable to afford the supplies needed to be successful in the class. Due to the current heatwave, students are stuck being taught in a classroom possibly reaching over 85 degrees. Not only is the heat unbearable for me but my students are also suffering. I currently have two fans I have purchased but it is not enough.

I also would like to support the students needs visually.

Most of my students are ELL students. Therefore providing visual aids will support them with learning. Color usually attracts the students and make learning fun. Also having an easel I will be able to actively use visual diagrams to assist in learning. I have an old Smart board (Promethean board), which does no justice for the students besides being a simple projector.
