My students need a Chromebook to help them work on computer skills with a keyboard. They do well with touch screens but need to work on identifying the letters of the alphabet on a keyboard.

My Students

I work with 6 wonderful students who are diagnosed with autism and are the most loving and amazing children. Each day they come running up to the door of my classroom eager to see what is in store for them.

My students do not let their disability hold them back; they are eager to learn new things each day through their fun loving personalities.

They inspire everyone who comes into their lives and have such a great outlook on life. I have students who are nonverbal and express themselves through gestures and picture symbols as well as students who are verbal. They are a great group to see each day and I look forward to work each day because of them.

My Project

Using technology is a tool that will not only help them in school, it will also help at home and in the community. With the help of a Chromebook, students will continue to work on identifying letters of the alphabet in a new way that will help them communicate with one another. They will be able to use the Chromebook to work on their reading and writing skills.

The addition of technology would give my students motivation to learn.

Students who have these tools build the skills that are needed in order to become readers, writers and effective communicators
