My Students

I have the most amazing first graders who are learning both in-person and remotely. Through these rather confusing and stressful days their smiling faces give me the extra push I need to keep going. While I have my in person children I also live stream all day, every lesson to my students at home. My students vary in demographics as well as socio-economic backgrounds but we are a family!

My Project

I have always tried to teach my children about money and telling time even though my current curriculum does not teach it until late first grade and for only about a week. I incorporate these topics into my daily morning routines so they are familiar with the information. These materials will be a great addition to our morning work because they can be manipulated and visually seen by all students. Many students learn through tactile experiences and being able to visually see the coins and move them would be a huge motivator
