This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As we approach the Lunar New Year on January 29th I'm excited to share an opportunity to enrich my first-grade classroom with a meaningful cultural experience. This year, we will be celebrating the Lunar Year of the Snake, and I would love your support in bringing this celebration to life for my students.

For first graders, learning about the Lunar New Year is not just about the festivities; it is a gateway to understanding diverse cultures and traditions.

To create a vibrant and engaging learning environment, I am requesting books, decorations, and fun activities that will help my students understand the significance of the Lunar New Year and foster a deeper appreciation for this cultural celebration. The decorations will enhance our classroom and create an atmosphere of celebration. This celebration provides a unique opportunity for students to explore themes of family, gratitude, and new beginnings.

By engaging with the customs of the Lunar New Year, students will develop empathy, respect, and an appreciation for cultural diversity, which are essential values in today's global society.

We are also planning for the 100th day of school! We are planning a fun-filled​ day for the 100th day of school. The books, pencils, and decorations are ways to acknowledge all of their hard work thus far. As well as, encourage our students to spend time reading at home which will help them become better readers.

Your contributions will make a significant difference in my students' lives, allowing them to celebrate and learn about Lunar New Year and the 100th day of school in an engaging and memorable way. Together, we can create an unforgettable learning experience!
