Help Us Launch the STCS Broadcast Department

Help me give my students the tools we need to build the STCS Broadcast department. The Macbook will help us produce a student-run live broadcast of Roadrunner sports. Students are also working on starting a student-run STCS podcast.

Thank you for reviewing this project! Our Digital Media/Broadcasting class is in the process of launching STCSs first broadcasting department. By far the most valuable way to learn broadcasting is by experience and our goal is to create a broadcasting department that gives students first-hand experience learning the various components of producing, broadcasting, and digital content creation.

The most valuable asset we can have is a Macbook computer that will allow us to produce live Roadrunner sporting events using Hudl's "Production Truck" software (Mac OS compatible only).

We have students that have shown an interest in play-by-play, as well as being on the production team, and we want to be able to provide them the resources to make that come alive.

In addition, Macbook computers are the best for video and audio production and students are currently going through the development stages of creating a weekly student-run STCS podcast. With the requested mixer, lighting kit, webcam and podcast equipment, our goal is to begin producing that podcast in January 2025 with both audio and video versions that can be posted online and on YouTube.

Ultimately any donation to the department is appreciated and valuable as there is a lot of equipment that can be purchased to help build the department, but the items on this campaign will have the greatest impact in our ability to get the department off the ground.
