Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My class is withing a title one school in the NYC school district. I teach a self-contained Special Education class filled with 12 students who are ready and willing to learn. Sure, they have varying disabilities but, that never stops my students from reaching for the stars. The one thing that can stop them is illness and lack of basic school supplies.

My goal for this project is to provide my scholars with the essentials needed to have a productive, healthy, and fun school year.

The Lysol wipes and tissues will go a long way in helping them to stop germs in their tracks. The fidget bands, and fidget toys, will help my scholars to stay focused during lessons. Also, the fidget accessories will help my students get their nerves and jitters out in a healthy way. The binders will be given to each scholar and they will fill them up with helpful anchor chart, cheat sheets, and their artwork. The Social Emotional journals and cushions will give them a safe space to express themselves without judgement.
