This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are bright young people who are excited to learn!

I have students of all different nationalities and ability levels, together they work hard to make our music room a fun and safe place to learn. Many students who come see me have different disabilities; we are a cluster site for these students. We are a K-5 elementary school with a largely Latino student body. Many of our students are English language learners and most have very little access to resources outside of school. Each class comes to music for 40 minutes every 7 school days. Our music room has many resources, but technology is not one of them!

My Project

Every music student in my program will be assessed with a standardized test this year. Technology would be extremely helpful in teaching my students the information they need to know for this state wide assessment. With a projector we can watch other students' performances, we can play learning games, and we can even Skype with other schools from other countries!

Many of my students have no access to technology at home.

I hope to enrich their lives through music as well as technology. Many of the statewide assessments are on the computer. My goal is to incorporate these questions in to learning games into my classroom using out new projector.
