About My Students

Angelina, Justin, Brazil, and Alainah are just a few of the students who have pledged to oversee the implementation of this projects. As HYPE (Healthy You, Positive Energy) members they have committed themselves to infusing several healthy initiatives in our K-8 urban school. We have twelve of our finest middle school students who are a part of this movement. The HYPE members will host a Family Fun & Fit Night in the Spring to promote health, fitness, and fun within our school community.

My HYPE students will have to develop a team strategy on how to organize and run our Fun & Fit Night. The giveaway items (toothpaste, bandaids, tissues, chapstick, vinyl bracelets, mini fidget spinners, emoji stress balls, keychains and erasers) will encourage our students to partake in the fun activities throughout the event. The HYPE students will plan the different activities that will be hosted, assign volunteers and help coordinate the event with the help of their supervisor. The students will give out the items to the participants.

In Their Own Words

We want to encourage students and their parents to get fit while having fun! The giveaway items will help promote the healthy message we are trying to spread through our Fun & Fit Event. The event is also an opportunity for prospective families to come and see what our school community is all about!

HYPE students meet weekly and plan the station activities. This is organized, advertised and executed by US, the HYPE students. This is a culminating project that we work on for about four months. It provides an opportunity for our middle school HYPE club members to be a part of something that is GREAT! Being a part of the HYPE club helps our middle school students find a place that they can fit in and help shape their emotional well being.

Students will be able to be engaged and participate in a fun event in the Spring. The after school event allows for students, parents and teachers to celebrate healthy choices. Many of the prizes support the mental and emotional wellness component while promoting the importance of making healthy choices. It is also a great opportunity for our middle school students to be a positive role model for our younger students and connect with them on a new level.
