Help Mrs. Braswell

I teach Environmental Science at a high school in Winston-Salem. Our student body is comprised of students that come from hard-working families mostly from the rural parts of our county. Close to 30% of my students receive free or reduced lunch and our population is quite diverse with an ESL (English as a Second Language) program for our county. A few weeks ago we conducted an experiment that dealt with the diversity of organisms in leaf litter. I had HUGE funnels around my classroom stuffed with leaves for several weeks - much to the bewilderment of my students! When we looked at the organisms I had collected, they were astonished to see the diversity of life in just a bunch of leaves! I had several keys to identify the organisms we had found but nothing as in-depth as my "soil arthropod identification" book I have. As you can imagine, in three classes, the detailed book was fought over in identifying everything they were finding! I am requesting 8 soil organism identification books from Carolina Biological. Please allow me to show them the diversity of life by donating 8 of these books!
