About My Students

Angelina, Justin, Brazil, and Alainah are just a few of the students who have pledged to oversee the implementation of this projects. As HYPE (Healthy You, Positive Energy) members they have committed themselves to infusing several healthy initiatives in our K-8 urban school. We have sixteen of our finest middle school students who are a part of this movement. The HYPE members will host a Family Fun & Fit Night in the Spring to promote health, fitness, and fun within our school community.

Students will plan out the various stations and events at the Family Fun & Fit Night. They will have the opportunity to put their leadership skills to work. The HYPE middle school students will not only plan and organize the event but they will also host the culminating event as their HYPE team project. This project will test my student's real-life problem-solving skills.

In Their Own Words

By hosting our Fun & Fit Night we will be helping keep kids fit and get them active. The event allows us to be in a leadership role. This is a school community event that everyone looks forward to. Also, this project allows children and their parents to bond and do something together.

It is the student's responsibility to organize and plan the station events and activities. We have divided up the responsibilities to ensure that everyone is a part of the planning process. Our HYPE club will meet weekly to think of ways that we can implement this project. The middle school students enjoy being a part of something that will bring our entire school community together.

Our school has hosted the Fun & Fit Night for the past two years. This will be our third annual Fun & Fit Night. The event has grown bigger and better with each year. Students will make many sacrifices leading up to the event in April for this all to be possible.
