My Project

I am the extremely proud teacher of the best fourth grade students in the world! We do have some statistics that say we won't be successful, though. Our county's poverty rate is 27.2%, which is higher than the national average of 12.5%, and our unemployment rating is 39.8%. According to the article, Children Follow the Example of their Parents, "All children... pick parents as their number one role model." Another article, Parents are Models, states "Parents are models for their child. They are the child's example of how to act in different situations. Children learn to behave like their parents." So, in class we have been working extra hard to bring everyone up to grade level.

With that being said, we have stumbled upon an obstacle we need a little help in overcoming.

Technology has been integrated, more and more, into education within the recent years. While we still do majority of our learning using paper, pencils, and peers, there are some technological aspects that we just can't avoid. For example, this year, our district made a change to the test we use to monitor our progress. This new test has certain parts that we have to hear to complete. With everyone's test being different, plus everyone working at different paces, the noise from other's devices can be a little overwhelming and distracting. We are working very hard to prove that we are more than the statistics stacked against us. A set of headphones would greatly benefit us in achieving that goal.

We always give 100 percent in our work, but we want to give 110. These headphones would help give us that extra ten percent. If you aren't able to donate, please help us by sharing this and getting our story out there. Thank you so, so much!
