My Students

My class is full of students who are eager, excited, and motivated to learn. I teach a first-grade gifted and talented class at a large public school in New York City. Right now there are twenty students due to COVID restrictions, but I expect thirty-two students in the coming year. They are all amazing thinkers with diverse needs and a wide range of abilities. They have a variety of interests and a love for learning. Their interests spread throughout all areas of literacy, math, science, social studies, and technology. They love learning through hands-on and interactive activities.

My Project

My students need some basic supplies to help our classroom run smoothly. Pencils and scissors tend to disappear very quickly, so I hope to have some extra on hand for sharing with students who need them. A good electric sharpener for those pencils is very much needed!

My students LOVE to read and the Book Buddy baggies will give them a safe place to store books when they "bookshop" from our classroom library.

They will be able to bring the books home to read and then transport them back to school carefully without worrying about them getting lost or damaged.

Printer paper and card stock are not supplied by my school, so I will use those for materials and resources that I need to print for my students from our classroom printer.
