My Students

Curious, Inquisitive, and Interested in the world around them. This is how I describe my 19 second graders and our daily learning climate.

My students are always eager to tackle any learning challenge presented.

We have a little bit of every type of personality in our classroom and we are a group that celebrates our differences and grows from learning with each other on a daily basis. There is a bond that develops when you experience new, exciting things. I strive for my classroom to be the community that fosters that bonding between the students and myself while instilling a foundation for a lifetime of learning.

My Project

Students will be programming the Sphero robotic balls to power and steer a vehicle of their design. Students will also use the Sphero to design and power a Battle Bot in a friendly Battle Bot competition. We will create mazes and program Spheros to navigate our mazes! We will also be able to program the ball to paint a design-Robots in Art?! Yes, that will happen. The students will be able to program Sphero to sequence a story we are studying. The students will program their Sphero to participate in a soccer game with other Spheros, talk about problem solving and collaboration!!! Sphero robotic balls will be integrated into all subject areas and provide authentic coding and robotic lessons for second graders.
