My Project

After visiting the Ron Clark Academy a few years ago I learned about new and engaging methods to motivate my students, such as room transformations. Some of the room transformations we complete are a glow room in math and to review, an adjective fashion show, a camping room, a construction room for measurement, and a fraction pizzeria. These transformations incorporate the state standards in all subject areas with fun-filled activities to make learning fun and engage students in their learning.

The students love these lessons, but to teach them, I need to replenish some of the materials each year to continue the activities.

For the Glow Room, I am requesting more blacklights. I am requesting a forest shower curtain and the butterfly life cycle kit for the camping transformation. There are also some items we need for math. We need magnetic photo frames so that students can keep a math help poster on the side of their desks. We also need hundreds board pop-its so we can practice number sense on a regular basis in a hands-on way.

Keeping my students engaged in their learning is extremely important to me. It makes a huge difference to our classroom culture when students are excited about their learning and look forward to participating in activities each day. Thank you for your consideration!
