This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The iPad will make a significant difference in the learning and development of my students by providing them with an interactive and engaging tool for their occupational therapy sessions. The iPad's apps will allow me to create innovative OT sessions particularly in fine motor skills and visual perceptual development.

An iPad is more than just a piece of technology—it's an innovative tool that can transform the way occupational therapy is delivered, making it more interactive, accessible, and effective for patients of all ages.

The touchscreen helps students practice fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination, finger strength, and dexterity through fun, repetitive tasks. This direct engagement can improve their ability to perform daily tasks like writing, using utensils, or dressing themselves. The iPad’s ability to support visually stimulating exercises helps students improve their ability to interpret and organize visual information, which is crucial for tasks like reading, navigation, and problem-solving. The interactive nature of the device provides instant feedback, which keeps students motivated and gives them a sense of accomplishment.

I know my students will greatly benefit from having an iPad during our OT sessions.
