Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I teach English language learners & Students with Disabilities in a Title I public school in New York City. The majority of my students come from Hispanic backgrounds where Spanish is the dominant language spoken at home. My students are always excited to learn new things. They face challenges in learning the English language; however, they have the willingness to learn and do their absolute best every day. As an ELL teacher, I get the opportunity to work with my students for multiple years and I always love to see the growth in their academics from year to year.

I want my students to be able to have all the resources they need to help them learn and succeed.

This project request is for a Teachers Pay Teachers gift card so I have the opportunity to purchase materials to help support my students as they are learning.

These materials could include unit plans which will feature digital resources that students can use at home in case of an unexpected closure or remote learning day. This could also include vocabulary and lesson resources. In addition, I can also purchase resources in Spanish and French which is usually not the easiest to access.
