Help Us Fund a SENSORY ROOM for Our AMAZING STUDENTS!
My students need these materials to help organize their bodies and minds and ready themselves to learn! Some of our students may also need a place to "chill out" or calm themselves when overstimulated!
Our middle school is a wonderful place! And we are growing! We are currently having elevators installed, and will soon be barrier free! Our school prides itself on being inclusive and we just can't wait to serve our community in a broader way. We are currently trying our very best to meet the needs of our students, but we know we can do even better with the addition of a 'Sensory Room'. Sometimes, our students get overwhelmed by their surroundings, just need a place to 'be', or need sensory needs met differently than others. Also, it can be a place to learn or review some basic life skills without judgement.
My Project
Our wonderful school is expanding in more ways than one! As we write this, elevators are being installed to make our building BARRIER FREE!
As our school grows, so do our needs.
As we serve a more diverse population, we think a Sensory Room would be a wonderful addition to help our students organize their minds and bodies before they learn. A Sensory Room would also offer a respite when our students are overwhelmed by their senses. A soft mat would offer a place of peace to practice yoga, the swing would offer vestibular input to prepare them for a tabletop activity. The calendars and clocks would help prepare them for upcoming events and understand their environment. Please consider helping us fund our project!
