My Students

I teach in a small community and over 90% of our kids are on free/reduced lunch. Most of my students live below the poverty line. I have students from many, many diverse backgrounds. I have students from Mexico, Somalia, Micronesia, El Salvador and Thailand.

These kids literally come from all over the world.

They are so diverse and unique. The majority are English Language Learners. In fact, 187 of the 400 students in our building are English Language Learners. The majority of our kids speak a second language.

My Project

Our classrooms have just recently received class sets of Chromebooks for our students. We are truly loving them! Most of our classes have 18+ students and most of the learning sites that we use have videos and sound to aide in student understanding. We are in dire need of classroom headphones so that our students can really enjoy and learn from the learning sites we use in the classroom.

My students are practicing their keyboarding skills and they are really, really loving it!

We use Typing Club and on that site they use videos to teach the kids the skills they need to master keyboarding. We are in desperate need of these headphones to improve the technology in our classroom.
