My Students

When you were a child, did you ever struggle to get started on a writing piece? Writing is one of the most difficult tasks for many elementary school children. My students need additional support and instruction so they can put their brilliant thoughts on paper!

My students attend a high needs elementary school in New York City.

They all have been classified with a learning disability and/or speech language impairment and receive special services from me 5 days per week. My students are brilliant--they have strengths in many areas, but struggle with traditional school tasks such as reading a book and writing an essay. With a little extra support, they are capable of performing on grade level and reaching their goals!

My Project

My students require more repetition and practice than our existing writing curriculum provides. These writing workbooks will allow me to provide students with additional practice activities so that students are better equipped to meet grade level writing standards. These books, combined with multi-sensory activities, group work, and teacher-led instruction, will provide my students extensive writing practice!

Your donation to this project will make a difference because it will provide my students with greatly needed curriculum materials that will enhance their education.

The current budget situation means that my school cannot purchase extra materials beyond the basic curriculum. Over the years, I have spent thousands of dollars on supplementary materials to help my special needs students. Your support will make a HUGE difference in enriching the academic life of my students!
