My Project

At BTECH, we work hard to make sure that our students are drivers of learning. Students learn best when they have up-close examples that they can interact with. In Living Environment and AP Biology, the interactions that organisms have with each other and other things in the environment are pivotal for students' understanding. Ecological concepts exist throughout all biomes and students are always excited to see new examples of what they are learning in action.

A marine aquarium in the classroom would allow our students to deepen their understanding of biology and the world around them.

The benefits of the aquarium are wide-ranging; this aquarium setup will give students a chance to learn about responsibility and care, animal behavior, and the environment. It would also offer students a place to go in the room for stress relief, creative ideas, and multi-sensory engagement.

As a teacher, I hope to use this as a tool for real-world connection and environmental consciousness in my students. The world we live in is beautiful, yet fragile, and must be fought for, protected, and conserved both now and in the future.
