Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students make up a diverse class full of curious learners. Each day they run into the classroom excited to see their friends and find out what we are doing. I am the general education teacher in an ICT classroom with 21 students of varying learning abilities. My students speak several languages and all bring something special to our classroom.

My students need an engaging classroom that has the materials to best help each individual learner do their very best.

I am devoted to creating an exciting environment where my students feel safe and excited to learn. I want to have the supplies that make my students feel a part of the classroom. My students love multi-sensory activities and colorful games.

My Project

My students have difficulty sitting on the floor in our class. By allowing some special seating such as the bean bags and having sensory materials, our students will be able to pay attention to lessons in a way that works for them.

The materials I am asking for would allow my class to differentiate learning experiences for each individual child's needs.

Having different ways to teach sight words, sand for sensory stimulation, and laminating paper to make materials neat and reusable, would allow for students to engage in the curriculum in a more exciting way.

Finally, we do not have many toys in our classroom. The children enjoy play that helps to develop their fine motor skills. Having a set of LEGO bricks would give my students a chance to play, while strengthening their fingers. I work hard to ensure my students are learning a lot. By having these materials, I will better be able to teach my students in the way that they deserve!
