Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Creating a supportive and calming space for our high school students is essential, as we recognize the unique challenges they face daily. Our goal is to ensure that each student knows they are understood and valued, especially during moments of stress and anxiety. We believe that the thoughtful addition of specific items can significantly enhance their well-being.

64% of teens reported feeling the world is more stressful now than when parents were their age.

Times are changing so maybe we should to.

A fan will provide a gentle breeze, helping students cool down when they feel overwhelmed or heated. The comfort of a bean bag offers a cozy retreat, giving students a place to relax and gather their thoughts. Weighted plushies will serve as comforting hugs, providing a sense of security when they need it most. Fidget tools are incredibly beneficial for calming an anxious mind, allowing students to channel their nervous energy into something productive. Textured tiles will offer a grounding sensory experience, helping students stay present and calm during stressful moments. Light tiles will create a soothing environment with their soft illumination, serving as a welcoming distraction that promotes relaxation.

By incorporating these items, we aim to create a space that acknowledges and supports the emotional needs of our students. We understand that everyone has moments when they need to step away and find a sense of calm. Our students are remarkable individuals—bright, loving, and eager to learn, yet often burdened with immense pressure.

Through this initiative, we hope to provide a sanctuary where students can manage their stress, recharge, and feel appreciated. Your support in bringing these items to life will help us show our students that they are not alone, and that their mental well-being is a priority we cherish deeply.
