Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work with English Language Learners that almost all speak Spanish. Most of them are new to the country. We are currently reading the book, The Year of the Dog by Grace Lin and they are newly introduced to Lunar New Year.

I would love to celebrate the Lunar New Year with decorations, gold coins, red envelopes and red colored snacks.

The book can explain more about the traditions of Lunar New Year and the arts and crafts will be a wonderful way to celebrate a newly introduced holiday. This is a great way to introduce students new to this country, to the traditions of another culture.
