My Project

In a first grade classroom, it is all about creating a love of learning in fun ways that will keep the students engaged. If learning is fun, and seems like a game, it is more exciting for everyone in the classroom. Some of the most fun that we have comes from when I am able to read aloud to my students. I become a story teller using different voices and pointing out the most important parts to make sure they understand it all.

I am always looking for fun and silly books that my students will enjoy so that they will see just how much fun reading can be.

The students get to listen to the book and then get a chance to read and look at the books themselves. Even if they can't read all of the words yet, I can hear them retelling the stories by using the pictures.

With these books and activity sets, I can help the English Language Learners in my classroom to increase their language abilities and find that passion for learning.
