My Project

We would like to help our students to grow as readers and writers by giving them a variety of ways to learn to both decode and encode words. Sand trays are a wonderful way to help students with handwriting/letter formation, learning phonics sounds, using sensory input as another way of taking on and retaining new information. We would also like to use crayons and mesh screens to help students with handwriting and learning to read, trace, and write a variety of words with increased sensory input.

These sensory materials will benefit kindergarten through second-grade students within their general-ed classrooms, as well as provide extra support for students up through fifth grade who need additional intervention or special education support.

Our team will collaborate to support our students and develop our own practice, and these tools will help us all to be sure that we are offering them a variety of ways to learn and retain their learning as they continue to grow as readers and writers. Thank you for your support!
