My Project

Before Covid, children would gather together at a meeting area on a rug.

For the past 2 years, we have been missing that wonderful sense of community that a meeting area helps to foster.

It will be wonderful to sit together to share discuss books read aloud, have circle time where we talk about our experiences and feelings, and learn to listen to others.

A rug helps students learn to sit together again by giving them a spot they can see on the floor. It gives the first graders some structure to help participate in discussions.
