My Project

The primary goal of creating this sensory room is to create a safe, calming space where students can be taught how to decompress and self-regulate. This room will be equipped with various sensory tools and activities, such as soft lighting, tactile toys, crash pads, etc. to provide both calming and alerting activities to engage our students' in their specific sensory needs. By engaging with these sensory elements, students can reduce stress and anxiety, improve focus and attention, and enhance their overall well-being to help them thrive in their school environment, and reach their full learning potential. This project will reach students from Pre-K to 8th grade with sensory and socio-emotional needs within our school community.
