My students need a fan/heater because we need to maintain a well-tempered room to lean. Our classroom is extremely hot by midday where students literally sweat, feel nauseated, and can't focus during class.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
My students were educated in a class environment that can be both a blessing and difficulty when they were in a split class last year as 4th graders. They had to share their teacher with outgoing 5th-grade students where they only had their teacher 50% of the time throughout the school year. However, it might have been an accidental benefit to have them preview this year's lesson.
Our school is a Title I school that serves primarily the low-income and high poverty population where most of our students come from non-English speaking families.
Despite so, my students attend school every day full of life, curiosity, and enthusiasm with the ambition to thrive in every subject, including reading, writing, math, social studies, science, and music. We also teach Chinese with the effort to preserve students' family culture and encourage diversity in the school.
My Project
A healthy and suitable learning environment is crucial for students to learn and stay focused. Despite the clean environment and standing structure, our room lacks the necessary ventilation that my students need in order to breathe and stay focused in class. While air conditioning throughout the school is currently not an option, we sincerely request for a fan in our classroom, and it would be even more ideal if it can be transformed into a heater during cold weather/seasons.
It is heartbreaking to see students unable to concentrate or focus because the weather and classroom environment is not suitable for them to learn.
My students suffer everyday afternoon from an overheated and stuffed classroom where I can literally see them sweat, feel nauseated and exhausted, suffocate from the lack of fresh air, and become dehydrated as they sit through lessons.
There are only so many layers of clothing that they can remove. We have tried opening all doors and windows to let air into the room but we either draw hot air in, or we do not get any breeze at all. In addition, in efforts to prevent fainting, blooding noses, and vomiting, we are privileged to have a purified water system in the classroom so students can obtain a balanced amount of water into their bodies. However, one problem leads to another when too much water raises the students' need to go to the restroom and learning time is reduced.
We thank you for your attention, and our classroom will be extremely grateful to be sponsored with a fan/heater so we can maintain a well-tempered classroom that provides a breathable learning environment and saves valuable learning time for each student.
