My Students

My classroom is a French immersion classroom, where students receive all of their instruction in French. Our school is dedicated to providing a literacy and content-rich curriculum in both languages.

The students in my class are bilingual and French language learners.

Some students are being exposed to French for the first time while some are improving their oral language and literacy skills in their native language. All students learn to read and write together, with differentiated instruction and activities based on their level of language acquisition.

My Project

Beginning in Kindergarten, students in my classroom are introduced to the world of writing! Through the daily routine of writing workshop, students quickly learn to identify themselves as authors and illustrators.

In order to effectively follow the Writing Workshop model and structure, students require access to certain school supplies, including felt-tip pens for revising, staplers for combining pages to make books, and tape and glue to add and edit their work.

These particular materials help students feel in control and proud of their work as authors and assist in the creation of self-sufficiency in our classroom throughout the writing process.
