Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach wonderful 3 and 4 year old Pre-K students in a high need area. We are located on ground level in front of the school yard and the sum beams into our classroom all day long.

Our classroom gets extremely hot during the "hot" months of school. Between the sun beaming in and the fact that barely a breeze flows through our windows, the children get so hot that at nap time they sometimes stick to their mats. They are covered in sweat all day long and the heat makes it hard for them to concentrate and learn. Due to the fact that we also have unremovable iron gates on our windows, we cannot have air conditioners installed in the windows.

The solution I have come up with is to get a portable air conditioner for our classroom. So the room can be cool allowing the children to be able to concentrate and learn. The children desperately need this, you can't even imagine how hot our room gets.

You can make it possible for these poor children not to suffer in this heat any longer. By donating this air conditioner to our class, these children will feel comfortable in school, enjoy school, and be able to learn better. School is beginning soon and we will face this problem once again. Please, please, please donate to our class! Thank you!
