Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

It is well-known that early childhood classrooms are filled with germs galore as our students are still learning how to use tissues, cover their coughs, and wash their hands properly. This year alone our class has had waves of the flu, covid, strep throat, and the seemingly-ever present common cold. In addition to that, we are located in an older building in the lower east side of Manhattan that is currently under construction. This brings construction dust in through the windows and air conditioners. Not to mention the air quality of the traffic-filled streets surrounding our school. We can help reduce the effects of distractions with a new air purifier.

Our attendance rates suffer simply because of the germs floating in our air.

Students are absent for a week at a time and are missing out on crucial learning and social opportunities for their development. We are a title 1 school with many low income students who have the right to an education. I can improvise with materials I don't have, but I can not clean the air. Please help with your donations and thank you for your time.
