My Students

My students come in everyday grateful to be in an environment that puts a premium on learning. Many of them have come from environments where that isn't always the case.

Many of my students have come from Yemen, where there is a discount put on education and opportunities are limited.

The families with whom I work are extremely humbled that they now live in a place where their children, both boys and girls, can receive an education that will help them to fulfill their dreams. My remaining students have come from low-income families and also realize that the only way to improve upon the living situation for them and their families is to receive an education.

My Project

In geometry, there is a lot of work done in two dimensions. However, more and more, we are seeing the third dimension added in movies, gaming, television, etc. In order to help students visualize what they are creating and discovering, we would like to add a 3D printer to our classroom. It will give students a hands-on approach to the subject that they likely haven't experienced before.

As it is our goal to prepare all students to be college- and career-ready, we try to integrate technology into the classroom as much as we can.

How cool would it be for high school students to enter the next phase of their lives having the experience of working with 3D technology?

I am committed to getting students as engaged as possible in the lessons, and I think this technology will help me accomplish this. It is always so inspiring to see the spark in their eyes when they truly enjoy the learning process.
