This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The 4th grade is participating in UBD on Food and Hungry Insecurities in our community. This UBD will help teachers assist students in achieving a deeper understanding of how our community struggles with basic needs of a family. This will benefit the families in our school and community Our school is in the first stages of creating a food pantry of our community. We would like our 4th grade students to be involved. The students will discuss and create a list of possible food item that can be donated to a food pantry. The food on our "wish List" was created to

start our community pantry.

This will give them the experience of "real life" situations and the importance of involvement in their community. They will make a positive impact on their community.
