Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are English Language learners and are either immigrant or born from immigrants. They have been self-contained class since kindergarten and have been together since the beginning. They are a little family and this year I'm joining it.

Our school is a Title 1 school and many of my students are financially disadvantaged so they may need a little help getting supplies.

They are great kids and as a new teacher, I want them to have the best chance at success!

My Project

As a first-year teacher, I don't have the funds to supply art supplies for my students. I found that there are no color pencils or markers in my class. To effectively teach English to ESL students, matching pictures to a text is important. Students will not only learn English but also tap into their creative side.

Since I teach at a Title 1 school, my students come from financially disadvantaged families.

I would like to have some healthy snacks for them so they can have something to eat if they missed breakfast or lunch.

I know my students and I will appreciate anything you can give. Thank you for your support!
