My Project

The Brooklyn eEraticators are a group of high school students who have dedicated themselves to community education to help other students and community members learn how to change their behaviors to keep our city rat free! With these art supplies the eRaticators can design and implement lessons and other engaging activities to help students and adults learn about how to mitigate rat activity! We will run tabling events in our cafeteria, lead lessons in our school classrooms and continue to take action by leading pop up awareness events in our community! Community events need posters, advertisements, games, surveys and more! These supplies will help us to prepare and run fun and engaging events to teach individuals how to change their behaviors to mitigate rats!

Did you know that rats are an issue of equity?

Research shows that rats cause more symptoms of depression than high crime rates! Rat activity is normalized in NYC, but it doesn’t have to be! My students want to take action and use education to make our city a better place. They will use the peppermint oil, canvas bags and iron on vinyl to make “rat packs,” kits filled with resources to combat rats, for members of our community. This resource coupled with our educational materials and hands on lessons, facilitated with materials like Sculpy and Model Magic, can truly make a difference and create a higher quality of life for NYC residents!
