My students need support materials in their native language in order to be successful in the American traditional classroom. With these materials I feel that we can put them on the right path to success.

A chain reaction of support starts with one share.
Being a small district -- we do not have many built-in supports for students who are considered ESL/ESOL. We need to be able to support learners of all backgrounds and need materials to help with that. These supplies will allow for one-on-one instruction as well as small group and collaborative instruction to support the whole learner. Because we live, work, and learn in the Digital Age, we need materials that will help students from all backgrounds succeed in a digital world.
My Project
As the Reading Specialist, I need materials that will help ESL/ESOL students learn English, gain literacy, and acquire skills necessary to learn in the high school classroom. We see students multiple times a day who are non-native English speakers, and as the school year progresses, they get more and more frustrated. Hopefully with the right tools, supplies, and unwavering motivation to learn our kiddos can be just as successful as non-native speakers. We care deeply about these children who need a little more support -- which is why we are asking that you provide us the materials needed to do so.
BrainPop will allow my non-English speakers a program they can use online, and since each student in our school has their own Mac, this will be helpful for them to "learn independently" while also having fun.
The Time magazines and book sets will give my ESL students resources to use while we have our SSR reading time (every day for 20 minutes). Right now their choices are limited since 99% of what we have are books in English.
The grammar and picture books requested will help out ESOL specialist and myself work with students one on one and reach them where they currently are. Each student who comes
