Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I have a wonderful group of 18 2nd Graders. I work however with the entire grade of 80 2nd graders. My students are very creative and love to explore different topics through learning collaboratively. We work hard everyday on social emotional skills to get through the everyday obstacles.

My students come from a Title 1 background.

They work so hard to catch up academically. I see students cheering each other on when someone gets something right. I see students who care for people of different backgrounds. I see students who see past physical appearances and see people for who they can become.

My Project

Because of the pandemic students are needing more help with technology and reading. The supplies is going to directly help students get better individual lessons. I am requesting headphones and books.

The skills students are going to learn will directly affect their knowledge on the community and technology skills.

We teach about community helpers in second grade. We also work really hard with our students to develop a love of reading and the read aloud books will help them see joy in reading. The headphones will help them get more focused time with their technology.
