My Students

Imagine starting college with confidence that you are ready for the rigor of your courses, because you have already earned college credit before your first day of class! For students in my AP Psychology class, this is a real possibility.

I work at a school where over 70% of students are low income and most will be the first in their family to go to college.

Our goal is to ensure that ALL of our students are ready to enter and succeed in a four-year college or university, and enrollment in an AP course is a great way to make this happen. Students who take AP classes in high school are better prepared for the rigor of college and are more likely to do well in their college classes. Students sign up for my class because they are interested in learning more about Psychology and they are excited about challenging themselves with a college level course. Every year AP Psychology becomes more and more popular, because students love learning more about themselves and the people around them. My goal is to ensure that students who enter this course are successful; giving them the confidence and skills they need to achieve their goals of eventually earning a college degree.

My Project

I want to provide my students with review books to help them prepare for the challenging AP Psychology exam in the spring. Because my students are low income, most of them aren't able to afford these books for themselves. I would like to give my students all of the same advantages of those in higher income communities, and that includes giving them access to the same resources. Having review books will help them understand and review the course material throughout the year and right before the exam!

AP Review books would help my students study and would make them more likely to pass their AP Psychology exam.

This would be HUGE for my students, because it would mean that they have earned college credit for a course they took in high school. Please help my students make their college dreams come true!
