My Project

Many students (for better or for worse) use phones as a coping mechanism when they encounter an uncomfortable feeling or challenge. As of November 1st, students at my High School will not be able to use their phones. In order to help students with this transition to a phone-free environment, I am seeking donations to provide students with alternative coping strategies. Fidget toys, sensory toys, mandalas, and breathing exercises will support students in making alternative choices when they encounter an uncomfortable feeling. Menstrual products, tea and snacks will help remove some of those underlying discomforts.

Students can't do their best work when their mental health needs aren't met.

This project will allow us to create a calm and focused learning space that meets mental and physical health needs to ensure a positive experience. Our students need snacks, ambient lighting, fidget toys, and calm strips to help them feel like the classroom is their space

A sense of belonging and comfort is key to students' mental health, and these items will help us meet our students physical needs and let them know they are deeply cared for.

If they need a pad, we will have it. If they're hungry, no problem. If the big light is too much, or they need a weighted stuffy, we can provide for those needs!
