Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from a wide variety of backgrounds originating from all of New York City's five boroughs. Most of the students come from low-income homes and so asking parents to contribute to expensive programs is difficult.

The school offers students the chance to develop skills for careers in health professions and so will enable them to prosper economically.

The majority of the curriculum is Science-focused and students only take one Arts-themed class. I aim to provide them with the best possible experience to enrich their understanding of music.

My Project

In our music class we have raised funds to buy and build a vocal booth, microphones, mic stands and cables. We still need an audio interface and some long cables to connect microphones to the computers.

With an audio interface students can connect high quality microphones and record their voices for music projects as well as presentations for other classes such as English and Social Studies.

This tool empowers them to strive for a higher level of performance, to only be limited by their ambition and perseverance to create quality music and audio presentations such as podcasts or slide narrations.
