Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach wonderful third-grade students in an ICT setting. Our classroom is very diverse, students come from different cultures, socioeconomic backgrounds and have various needs. They are eager to learn and explore with the educational resources they have access to.

As a new teacher, I would love to provide them a stimulating and safe place to learn and grow.

My goal is to make my students amazing learners in the classroom as well as great citizens outside of the classroom.

My Project

This project will help me continue to foster a love for reading in the classroom. All of our third graders are building their reading stamina by pushing themselves to read as much as possible everyday and many of them have expressed that they would like to see more of the books they love. I have added their favorite series and samplers of other popular series, that I know they would enjoy. But having a good book is only one part of building a reading life, which is why I'm also asking for bins to organize our books and cozy pillows so they can get comfortable when they read.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these materials will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading.

I believe they would benefit tremendously from having the opportunity to choose books that interest them and a comfortable reading spot. My students already have shown so much interest in independent reading, and this project will only help further enrich their reading experience.
