My Project
The cheerleading team is in need of new uniforms. Over the past three years, we have built out the cheerleading team to include over twenty athletes and two alumni as assistant coaches and choreographers. I have seen the cheerleaders grow, not only in their athletic skills, but in their team work dedication and leadership!
For the past three seasons, our cheerleaders have been performing in tennis skorts and t-shirts.
They deserve uniforms that match the time and effort they put into their performances! Our cheerleaders perform at games, pep rallies, and other community events. All cheerleaders are required to attend two, seventy-five minute practices a week and maintain proficient grades in all their classes. These student athletes should have uniforms they feel confident to showcase their hard work.
Students on the cheerleading team come from diverse economic and cultural backgrounds. Resources are not always abundant, but drive and dedication are. I am asking you to help fill that gap. The cheerleaders take pride in their team and all the hard work they put in. I want them to also have the opportunity to take pride in their uniforms.
The cheerleaders not only encourage the basketball players, but bring school spirit throughout the entire building. On a game day, you can hear students chanting our cheers during lunch. Their impact is palpable and the quality of their uniforms should reflect that.
