Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are amazing! As soon as they entered the classroom this year they have been hungry to learn. They have a desire to succeed despite the challenges that they face in and out of the classroom.

All students should have an equal opportunity to achieve and reach their goals. I teach in an ICT classroom where our students are on various levels in both reading and math.There are 23 students, 8 of them are students with disabilities. Although my students have different learning styles, they all love and benefit from the use of technology. My school is a Title I school in which all students receive free lunch and breakfast.

My Project

Having a set of tablets in our classroom will help differentiate instruction for struggling learners. Our school has a variety of resources and computer based programs available, however my classroom is currently only equipped with three desk top computers. Therefore, students receive a limited amount of computer time. The programs our school has available, tailor learning to each individual student based on their interests and learning needs. Access to more technology will increase student achievement.

Integrating technology into the classroom is an effective way to connect students of all learning styles.

Having these tablets will be an amazing opportunity for the students to have hands on and engaging learning experiences. In addition, the tablets will enhance instruction and allow students access to technology that they ordinarily might not have exposure to.
