Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students at my school are awesome! These students come to school each and every day ready to learn despite their family hardships and living arrangements! They may have struggles but they try their hardest to overcome these struggles to become our stars to success.

My school is located in a neighborhood that faces many difficulties on a daily basis.

It is a poverty stricken neighborhood at the LES.

My students are eager and hungry learners. Their enthusiasm motivates and drives me to work hard for them and the best of education I can provide. My students come to school looking forward to a safe place to explore, learn and cultivate for their future.

My school is a Title I school and 98% of students receive free lunches daily. Even though these students are moving around a lot and being cared for by different guardians and caretakers, they still make it to school each day. The school is most students’ safe haven where they can be themselves and enjoy learning.

My Project

These materials will make a big difference in these students' learning and improve their school lives because they often come to school without pencil and paper. These resources will be used on a daily basis and are very important for our classroom to function smoothly. Without sharpened pencils my students get off task and tend to interrupt their partners.

The sharpeners, pencils, paper and folders are needed to help keep our class running smoothly during independent reading and writing.

The folders will help my students to keep their writing safe where they will see their own ideas come to life. They would see the process connect to a final product.
