My Students

It’s the beginning of the new school year! The students are new to 6th grade and in a brand new school. Everyone is eager to get started reading and I am rolling out the classroom library. But, I am noticing a big problem. A lot of my book series have books that are missing. There are also many books that have been damaged over the years. The students I have are excited to read, and I want to give them the best class library possible. These students are entering a new era of reading, in middle school. This is a period that could determine reading patterns for the next few years of their scholastic careers. I have students all across the board, from advanced readers to reluctant readers. But the one thing they all have in common is that they all deserve an awesome classroom library. With your help I can make that happen. Please consider donating.

My Project

A key to any great classroom library is the inclusion of good books. I have a good classroom library. But over the years, the books have become torn, worn, and not useable at all. I want to inspire my kids to read. The best way to do that is to have an enticing classroom library filled with books that will keep them coming back for more.

I recently listened to Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor and in her words she said “The more kids read, the bigger their dreams become.” I want my kids to never get tired of reading, and in order to do that, I need to replace some damaged books.

I also need to add some books to popular series of books from my classroom. With your help, I can help my students stay engaged in reading and help my students dream bigger than ever.
